Wireless (Radio or Infrared) Control – Used in lieu of pendants, wireless control technology is used to replace or retrofit hard wiring by transmitting signals to sensors and receivers on board cranes, hoists or monorails. By using a remote control the operator has the freedom to move to an optimal location for local control, while being able to view people and objects to ensure a safe load lift, movement and placement. They are ideally used in areas where there are cluttered aisles, high bays, and multiple operational levels, load traverse of a pit, wall or large object or, handling bulky or “hot” loads.
Radio Frequency (RF) Controls are omni-directional and the operator can be in more locations and operating from areas where the view of the operation is blocked from the signal receiver. The signal range is longer than 200’ and is adjustable allowing for controlled range. Infrared Controls is line-of-sight technology. It requires that the operator be able to see the equipment or the infrared sensor before operating. The normal operations signal range is only about 200’. |
