Versa Handling Company was established in 1985 as an independent, authorized dealer for the Cleveland Tramrail and Shepard Niles product lines. Our goal is to provide high quality products with personal, professional service at reasonable prices. We take pride in our ability to offer creative, cost-saving solutions and on-time deliveries. Since its inception, Versa Handling has grown in size and experience. In an effort to provide a diverse line of products and services to meet our customers growing needs, we've acquired two other divisions; Railglide Systems and Grey Hub Trolley Wheel Company. We utilize 3 buildings within the City of Detroit, centrally located to all major freeways, making it convenient for shipping and receiving material. We also provide delivery services to all of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. In 1998, we were awarded Certification as a (DBE) Detroit Based Enterprise/(SBE) Small Business Enterprise with the City of Detroit's Human Rights Department under its Detroit Based and Small Business Program (DSBP).
Cleveland Tramrail Systems Division: Specializes in the design, engineering and fabrication of material handling systems, e.g., automated monorail systems, crane systems, conveyors and other related items. We have our own in-house engineering staff, fabrication shop, and installation services could be provided if required. As a distributor of Cleveland Tramrail and Shepard Niles, we offer a high quality product for your overhead material handling and below-the-hook accessory needs. We can also design and fabricate structural support steel and miscellaneous iron such as mezzanines, stairs, racks and platforms.
Grey Hub Trolley Wheel Division: Established in 1922, Grey Hub, for many years had been a leader in manufacturing top quality crane wheels for the material handling industry. Versa Handling purchased Grey Hub in 1989, and has since turned it into an efficient, small manufacturing company, using the latest technology in machining. Although we specialize in custom wheel applications, we continue to produce a quality line of standard size trolley wheels machined from gray iron castings for use on standard equipment throughout the industry such as I-Beam and patented track. We have the capability of machining custom wheels with a large variety of different tread styles, widths and sizes from 1-7/8" up to 14" diameter. Today, we continue to manufacture the same reliable, long lasting wheels that made this company a leader in its industry.
Railglide Systems Division: Versa Handling Company acquired Railglide in 1992 to complement its growing product lines. Railglide is an authorized stocking distributor and systems builder for the FlexLink line of conveyors. This unique product is manufactured from extruded aluminum and polymer plastics and is ideal for moving lightweight goods in a variety of environmental conditions. Through innovative design, we can build a system using less production floor area by utilizing unused overhead space. This easy-to-assemble product is versatile enough to be modified and extended, often without interruption to on-going production. We work closely with the customer to create the most efficient, space-saving systems possible. In addition, Railglide also manufactures a line of 2 and 4 wheel trolleys for use on I-beam and patented track. These trolleys are available in 500 to 2000 lb. capacities, with steel or bronze wheels.
With the new millennium upon us, we look to the past as a stepping stone in meeting the new and exciting challenges facing our Company's future. In keeping up with this ever-changing industry, we continuously work toward improvements in all areas of our business. It is our belief that honesty, integrity, and reliability are the foundations for establishing good customer relationships and that quality, safety, and teamwork are the building blocks necessary in serving their needs.
