Miscellaneous
Spreader Beams – Have top rigging and directs most load stress through the rigging directly to the hooks. Structurally, spreader beams spread load and are not designed to equally handle load stress at all points across the beam spread. The greater distance between the hoist and load (due to top rigging) gives these beams greater stability. Lifting Beams - Provides stability and balance to long loads. They are used in applications such as lifting steel rod or long lengths of tube. Vacuums, magnets, grabs and containers can be added to the lifting beam to help support and contain the load. Stabilizer Cranes – Used in applications where precise positioning of a load is essential. The hoisting cables of the crane are arranged to eliminate all pendulum motion of the load. Also the load can be raised or lowered without sway in any direction. Scales – It is often necessary when handling products that they need to be weighed. To accomplish this without adding another handling operation scales can be added as part of the carrier design or, scales can be provided to the hook which can record the weight of load. |
