Manipulators
Unlike the hoist or balancer which can only lift vertically, manipulators have a mechanical arm which can move a load horizontally as well as vertically and are generally dedicated to a single product. By providing application-specific load handling devices called end effectors, the operator can manually manipulate the load in a "pick, move and place" function and can effortlessly and precisely position loads in, under and around obstacles. They can be floor mounted, column mounted, mounted overhead on a rail system or attached to a ceiling. Like the balancer, it provides a "floating" or near weightless lifting situation, easy reach and orientations, providing many ergonomic benefits. |
